Hi Mark , the only section of the image that I think needs adjusting is the horizon line , now I'm not saying that the camera wasn't level but the far bank does look like it's leaning from right to left so I think I would straighten it any way .

As for the composition it's hard to say if there was a better angle or not because I don't know what the rest of the scene is like so I'd only be guessing but to me it does feel like I would like to see the path way starting from a more central position , may be with the hand rail starting closer to the lower left side .

The last point is a question on your set up , the background doesn't look quite as sharp as it could so did you use a narrow aperture to maximize the depth of field and a tripod or was it hand held ? .

Looks like a great location for wildlife shots, where is it ?

Mark

Hello Mark, this was taken hand held with my 18-55 kit lens I tend to use f8 more than anything on this lens and keep forgetting to try different ones. The location is Waters Edge in Barton upon Humber and its buzzing with wild life in the warmer months, I think I will be there a lot later this year

That looks much better to me .

I think the composition of the original image ( straightened of course ) works a lot better , well done .

The location looks beautiful , when you do go back make sure you get there nice and early because if it's anything like the nature reserves round here they tend to get very busy as the day goes on .
