No, you don't have much time for such shots, hence why you have to work quickly. If I had been in your position I would have taken a shot of just the sky and also, just the reflection in the water as well as the shot you did. That way, I would have had three different shots of the scene, as it give you more scope for using the end results.

Top tip OldBoy thanks for that but you do know that I now have something else to forget to do when I'm out on location .

Beautifui! You can wait a long time before the sky and the water are just right. I'd been wanting to get some shots of a local creek when the water is smooth. I happened to luck out one Sunday morning before sunrise. I had a good feeling that it was the right day, and it was!

Since then, I have not seen the water without ripples, and I pass by it every day. On top of that, I was looking for my original files and don't have them. I had twenty good shots of the scene, and uploaded them to FineArt America. Just after that my hard drive went bad and I hadn't backed them up onto my external hard drive. I didn't realize it until I was looking for them, yesterday, but when I went to FAA I find I can't download them. I had to contact the website and they sent me an e-mail with a link to a place where I can retrieve them. They're some of my better work and I was concerned about not having my own copies.

Got 'em! I tried earlier but the website was down for maintenance. Here's three of them. The place is Love Creek.

I'm glad you managed to get your images back and what a fantastic name for what looks like a great location .

That does remind me that I must backup my shots more often than I do .
