this is a really nice lens but pricey i got a sigma 17-70os instead which i find great and its a lot less money

Yes I have one, I bought it as a kit lens when I got my 7D,it is my main walkabout lens and I am perfectly happy with it, the IS works well and it is lovely and sharp the only issue I have seen is vignetting at the wide end but this is easily corrected with PP software.

As Wave01 said though it is quite pricey though.
