iso chart

hi i have recently brought a nikon coolpix l310 camera, i am quite well versed at photophry and i find with this camera i miss aperture and shutter speed control, the only way to alter these settings on my nikon is to alter the iso settings, i was wondering if there was a chart that showed the f number and shutter speed associated with iso numbers

The only connection is that all three affect the exposure.

ISO - how much the sensor signal is boosted to give a response in lower lighting conditions.

f/number - how much light gets through the lens

shutter speed - how long the light gets to the sensor

Hi chrisc123

I am very surprised that your camera hasn't got aperture or shutter priority or some kind of manual control , have you been through the menu on the camera to check .

As for your iso question , there aren't any set figures for shutter aperture and iso apart from doubling the iso will have the same effect as doubling the shutter time or opening up the aperture by one full stop but you should try and use the lowest iso possible to give the best quality results .
