looking for a wide angle lens

I am a weekend photographer & I am looking for a wide angle lens but I am on a very tight budget. Any recommendations? Please help. Thank you.

Angle of view depends on format size, so knowing your camera would let people form an idea of what to recommend. And how tight is tight?

If you are using a DSLR, cropped format sensor what about the Sigma 10-20mm f4.5? £369 roughly

A bit more info would be handy but I agree with beatnik69 the Sigma 10-20 f/4-5.6 is a great lens for a crop sensor or the Sigma 12-24 f/ 4.5-5.6 for a full frame but then your adding an extra £300 to the price of the 10-20 .

I agree about the Sigma. I use this and it's great, I'm happy with the results. Not too expensive either as already stated.

Thank you all.
My camera is the Canon T1i. Not more than 300$(or pounds).

Smile Wide angle?

I have been looking and saving for a wide angle lens for my Nikon D90, and have read some really good reviews on the Tokina 11- 16 f2.8 AT-X 116 PRO DX it has a constant f 2.8 aperture making it pretty fast. It isn't as cheap as some third party lenses, being around 420 pounds for the most upto date model, but it is very well built and I would be interested what others thought of the lens.
