Loch Lomond - Best Locations

I am hoping to head up to Loch Lomond in late Sept eraly October, and was wondering if anyone knows some of the better locations for the best landscapes. Landscape isn't my thing, but it's time I learned. I understand 'The Trossachs' are there too.

Would love a castle on a hill, above the mist..................

Any suggestions?

Hey DigiDiva

When exactly are you going? I am going to be in the Lake District during early October and part of my trip is planned up around the area you're suggesting.

I would quite happily have you tag along if you wish!

No worries DigiDiva! Maybe next time I'm around.

Have a good time though when you're up there.

Chris, you could search Flickr for Loch Lomond & see if there's anything there to inspire you. I'm sure there will be plenty that you don't want to emulate.

Quick geography heads-up for anyone interested: Loch Lomond is not in the Lake District.

Most likely you'll be in Balloch which is at the head of the loch from there or from Tarbet you can get a cruise up the loch.

have a look at this website http://www.stirling.co.uk/trossachs/waterfalls.htm Inversnaid picnic area has some nice views across the loch.

Google is your friend also check out the Visit Scotland website

You could also visit Luss which is where they filmed the TV series Take the High Road

Thanks guys. I wasn't sure if Jools comment meant he thought Loch Lomond was in the Lake District orif he meant he would travel, as its's really not really all that far from Cumbria.

Im looking forward to it. Hope it doesn't rain (haha, guaranteed rain)

I'll hopefully be camping in that neck of the woods come November for a few days. It'll will be good to see some of your results DD.

Have a great trip. Sorry I can't be any use as to places to go etc as I've never been, I'm leaving most of the reconaissance to my brother and erstwhile photography companion.
