Without getting every detail correct I would say that the fork is under the opaque plate or whatever the spoon is placed on and with the light behind the fork ( beneath everything) it casts the shadow not only onto the opaque base but through that onto the spoon bowl.

Maybe wrong but that's my guess.

Well done Jeff!!!! The fork is stuck to the underneath of a sheet of glass. The glass is suspended between 2 chairs, with a light underneath. Over the glass I placed greaseproof paper (great as a diffuser BTW..lol). The light, shining up, shows the shape of the fork. Placed the spoon in just the right spot to show the fork underneath and angled the shot. With all that effort, surely I'm worthy of a couple of votes...lol

Yep, done that same sort of thing before, VG for high contrast images. Nothing from me this week just can't find a suitable picture and the weather here is crap.
Wish we could use archive stuff like other weekly comps allow.

Well, that's my entry in! The idea in my head and the finished image are slightly different, but I enjoyed trying to capture what was in my mind!!

Hey Sparky, nice entry.

I tried utilising my Son's toy soldiers to capture a war theme in shadow, but then the computer died.

With the aid of £50 and a trip to PC world, plus several hours of reloading software and operating systems, I am back up and running. Not sure if I will get chance to get one in but will try tonight. The image I mentioned was lost to the dead Hard Drive.
