Bad Luck - Is There Such A Thing? A

Last week, my 70-300 Tamron lens broke..... however, luckily, it's still under guarantee till 15 July (unlucky with a stroke of lucky). Then the Central heating system packed in and I have no heating/water, despite the repair man coming out this morning. It went off again a few hours after he left. Yesterday my TV gave up - 2 years old and now currently in for repair. Now my LCD Monitor has suddenly developed a white horizontal line moving left to right continually.........AAAAAAhhhhhhhhhrgggggggggggggg gggggggggggg

Anyone seen this before on a monitor? Know a fix?

Blimey, they say trouble comes in 3's but you seem to have a 4th...!

Never have I seen a white line moving across my screen, only when I played Pong as a youngster on my old Atari.

I have spoken to one of our tech guys here in the office and he basically said he thinks the monitor is "knackered" and it is possibly the firmware that has given up and that is something that can't be replaced.

Its still under guarantee thank GOD!!!!! Cheers - will take it back at the weekend.

HAHAHA OMG I feel so silly - my son just reset the monitor - it was in some kinda demo mode!!!!

Seems like you have had a hard time DD, I am sure you will be rewarded with a run of good luck soon.

We had a welcome to your new house card from our IFA with a lottery ticket inside which only went and matched 4 numbers and gave us £63.

Prior to that we had a real run of bad luck with the house move which all sorted itself out in the end so all I can say is maybe do the lottery next weekend
