Always a good idea to check....lol!!!!! As it said that you could combine if you wish, I read that to mean one, the other or both! Then again, as ever, its how the photographer interperates the brief. Then its up to the voters to decide.

Out of curiosity, to you guys always take a picturet o fit the brief, or sometimes use the brief to fit the picture?

Generally I shoot the picture to fit the brief, but sometimes a shot comes along that happens to fit the brief but that is rare in my case.

How important is the technical side of your entry foryou all (lighting, composition ec)?

For me at the moment it is about using artistic creativity to come up with a shot that fits the theme (or what I believe to be the theme). The technical side is less important at this stage because I am new to photography, with little equipment, and technical knowledge. I use the competition to promote a thought process that gets me thinking about an image and how I want it to look, although it rarely comes out as I had wished. But I am now starting to get to grips a little with pp, so that may help slightly.

The photo to fit the brief without a doubt. The technical side is always important but I don't bust a gut getting it 'right' for weekly on-line comps, the basics will do for me, that goes for voting as well as entering. If the photo fits the brief, is imaginative and creative then technicalities take a back seat. However, if the photo is so badly produced technically that it destroys the intent and idea then that gets the thumbs down. In short I like things kept simple.

That reminds me...time to vote.

Wow I won just by a mere whisker mind!

Not many entries this week but they were all of a very high standard and it was a difficult call to vote this week however Sabrina's entry did grab me I loved the contrast and it worked really well so got my vote, La Pistola's entry was not far behind in my voting choice.

Thank you to damage, DigiDiva, ianpinion, Mudcrabmal, SPARKY iow for my votes.

DigiDiva - Its a Girl Thing

Really nicely executed shot, great colour, great lighting and bang on theme and I liked the composition nothing really wrong with this as far as I could see.

LaPistola - What Health Brings

This is a great entry I loved the consistancy of the images and the way they blended in to each other, also the the green first aid cross was a lovely touch it is a very well thought out and processed shot that I could quite easily see being produced for an advert.

I will have a think and get a new theme posted up tomorrow.

Thankyou to Markgoz for my vote. My entry was rushed again this week, the idea was to use lighting to light up my daugters face (beauty) and again another light to light up the blood test she was doing on her hand (Health). Unfortunately the result of the test was bad and we had to abandon that, so I posted what I had.

Well done Wavemachine on your win. A great photo.

My vote went to LaPistola - 'What Health Brings'. This was a great shot that signifies health, and as Wavemachine said, you could see this as an advert for a specific product. Well done, I am surprised so few votes.

Up - I guess that would be LaPistola (As above)

Down - Sabrina - Black beauty and white health

I liked the concept of the shot and the use of the alternate colours. The one thing that let it down slightly, is that I thought perhaps the colours on the base could have matched the background, instead it is jut White along both products. Everyone sees a photo differently, and this is just my inexperienced opinion. On the whole a nice shot.

I agree Wil, just as you, I didn't have mush time neither. I also wanted to align better (black object in the middle of white background and vice versa. But time was not on my site

Thanks to brendan1980, JonnyM, LaPistola and wavemachine for the votes!

UP: Beauty checking her health
Nice idea and a nice picture, as you mentioned, light could be better but is not that bad neither

DOWN: Beautiful Health
Not bad neither, but I would have avoided the joint in the middle of the paper towels

Congratulations to you Dave, a nice, colorful and sharp image.
