i took advice from a friend who does photography, and also what my budget would allow *shrug* ah well. i'm happy for now, and hopefully with some better lenses i'll be even happier i'm looking at the second hand market for stuff now.

It always comes down to budget at the end of the day, like someone said if you are happy that is all that matters, the 1100D is a very capable camera usually with most SLR's the quality of lenses will have more of an impact on the final image than the camera body. When buying there always seems to be something better or even if you buy "the best" a better one comes out shortly afterwards.

In my case the biggest limitting factor of image quality is me
