Congratulations alexharrison101!

Thanks to ianpinion, JonnyM and Semaj for voting my photo.

UP - Georgian Water Garden

A really nice picture, vanishing point on the right spot. My only point of critique is the "old postcard" transformation. I'm not sure it made the photo looking better.
Georgian Water Garden did get my vote, and I'm disappointed it isn't the winner...

DOWN - Sand & Sea

A nice picture, but it is a horizon, and not a vanishing point.

Well done to Alexharrison101, I did really like your shot but kerbsides Georgian Water Garden won me over I liked the processing which made me feel all nostalgic.

Thanks to kerbside for my vote.

Church

Interesting shot, really liked the angle and hit the theme, I think it needed something to lift it maybe a bit of PP to warm it up or make it look a little grittier.

The point to wood

A really nice take on the theme, I thought the processing worked well, I liked the composition and thought there was some great wood texture my only crit is it was a bit to dark so I couldn't see the vanishing point

These are of course just my opinions.

It is good to see the number entries climbing up again.

Hi, I think I might have forgot ups and downs last week so apologies. Here goes for this week...

Congratulations alex, for your vanising music. A great idea and a superb shot that got my vote. Great DOF.

Up - La Pistola's Wood - I'm notquite sure on the vanishing point of this, maybe you were a little too close. However, I know how much you love your wood! (Sorry if that sounded rude..lol)

Down - Jonny M's Knitting - I feel there was a bit of a cheat here, on closer inspection. Were the needles actually touching, or was it the actual vanishing point?

Looking forward to this weekends theme as I have no hubby as he's away cycling, whoop whoop, so a weekend all to myself!!!!!

Start a new thread, you can copy and paste most of it and just title the thread with the new dates which will be 17th - 19th August, looking forward to the new brief.

Thanks to everyone who voted for my Water Garden, much appreciated.

UP - JonnyM - Ghost Knitting

Good concept but thought that a lower view point would of worked better and maybe a closer crop as the actual subject only takes up half the picture with what i would consider too much background.

Down hssutton - Sand & Sea

To be honest i am not sure that this met the brief as i personally can find no vanishing point. The picture is good but it is just an horizon, sorry to be negitive but thats my point of view.

Voted for Dave's "on track" as i thought it was just that. Also high on the list was alexharrison101 with the "vanishing music" (eventual winner) and Sabrina's "Church". Chris, i liked the "into the distance" and i know this was a last min: shot, did hubby enjoy his walk?

Well done Alex, looking forward to this weekend's theme.

Up: 'Into The Distance' - DigiDiva.

A good shot and there is a vanishing point. However, the composition is too cramped to get the full effect for me.

Down: 'Georgian Water Garden' - Kerbside.

A typical vanishing point subject which is why it didn't get my vote I also think the pp detracts from the theme. I preferred your second option.

Apropos 'Ghost Knitting' I agree with you kerbside about the lower viewpoint and of course took a few shots lower down, but opted for this image . As to the background it naturally felt more balanced like this to me.

DD, a bit of a cheat! Does it matter? It's all a matter of perspective.
