Chris, very sorry, but I left out a little info, I also used 60mm of extension tube. However this would not have increased the DOF. I know that using very small apertures can affect sharpness, but in this case the aperture was at f/32 ISO, 1/200 sec. Obviously artificial lighting was used.

Dave

Until a few months ago I used Kenko tubes, then during a clear out these tubes disappeared. I blame the wife
Thought as a replacement I would use the tubes supplied by Linkdelight. http://www.linkdelight.com/L9B-AF-Ma...OS-Camera.html

very good quality especially when you consider the cost £38. Delivery took a little over one week. I can't remember the shipping cost, but I remember it being very reasonable.

OK, I have had enough now! I'm in with this...Double Lilly refraction.....

The hours I have spent on this..I wanted the refraction without the refracted item in the background. This is the best I could do with no extension tube and no stacking software! grrrr..Who picked this darned terrible theme? lol

Trying to get the 2 drops to not drop off, then to position the lilly so it refracts clearly in both droplets. Then to keep the lilly in position (sticky tape) then the battery runs out, then the batteries of the off camera flash give up!!!! Good job I am training in work and not doing my usual stressful job or goodness knows what would have been thrown out the window!

I had to do some research on this subject to be able to think outside the box. So it came down to what does refraction mean, "The bending of light".

So back into my workshop (oh here he goes again :P ) I come back out with some slate, 3 spring clamps and a smoke machine .......

I set up after finding 3 lasers from the house and get this shot

You can physically see the refraction happening. Not sure why the red beam don't show in the water but other than that (I wanted to cross the beams in water to make a shape) am happy with it.
