did i buy wrong?

a few weeks ago i got the 1100D - now, i love it, it does everything i want, pretty much, and as my first foray into DSLRs it's nice an d simple. however, everywhere i look at reviews it gets a sort of 'it's ok, but there are better entry level ones around'...did i buy wrong?

especially since i now see jessops advertising the 550D with 2 lenses for £550...

there will always be something else to tempt the money out of your pocket it's the sole purpose of advertising

if your happy with your purchase i wouldn't be too bothered about what you read about different models
a thing to keep in mind is the quality of your lens will have far more influence on the photo than the body

I think cosmicma makes sme good points.
The main thing is that you're happy and getting the results you want.
The only other thing that would have been better is if you'd purchased a Nikon.

And the quality of the photographer will have far more influence than either lens or body. "No photographer is as good as the simplest camera" (Steichen).

thanks - i just got really insecure about my (significant) investment, you know? i'm saving for better lenses as we speak, and am going to ignore adverts that tempt me in lol

If you're happy that's the main thing. Theres always better offers that become avaliable just after you've bought something, and there is always a better piece of kit. Shame it's all so expensive.
Good glass makes sense.
I'm always saving for something new but then the lawn mower breaks, or I need new tyres for the car. This week some electrics in the house blew!! Alli need.

I always try to research things as much as possible before buying but the fact is you will never know everything and also with the rate of technological advances these days we will always be chasing a very fast monster! as long as you enjoy using it and think you are getting the best results for yourself at the moment that is the main thing!

Before you make the plunge, read some reviews and take suggestions from the forum. Don't aim too low when choosing a camera. I've never heard anyone complaining that the camera they bought is too good.

Don't rule out used and refurbished cameras from dealers and manufacturers.
