Used Equipment

Hey all,

Firstly, being a newbie to the site, please accept my apologies this has been covered before!

I've had my Canon 350D for a while now, and I feel the time has come for an upgrade. At the moment, I can't really justify the outlay on a brand new camera, so I was thinking about getting a used one at a fraction of the price.

I've been looking at a few sites, but don't know if any of them are any good. So, does anybody have recommendations of where I can get decent used equipment, or is this just a bad idea from the start?

Many thanks in advance!

ffordes, Mifsuds, Park, LCE all come to mind. Grays for Nikon gear. eBay if you want to trust a bit to luck. Not sure that any will do a camera that you'd want at a 'fraction' of the price.

Agree with the above. But it's worth looking at a local independent camera shop. The one neat me is generally ok. But as mentioned, not at a fraction of the price unfortunately.

Thanks Chris, very much appreciated!

Obviously, a 'fraction' of the price may be a slight exaggeration.

Although, there was an EOS 1Ds mk II that sold on ebay a few days ago for about £650... that's quite a saving on the original price!

Thanks Jediboy, I'll have a hunt for any independants near me. I think all I have is a Jessops though, and I imagine if they have any used equipment hiding out the back, they'll put a hefty markup on it...

Jessops haven't traded in used equipment for years.
