Landscape Escape

Landscape Escape | Ebet Magpantay:

A Photo Journal of my weekend and sometimes week long escapes spent just roaming around, hiking, exploring, chasing sunrise and sunsets, enduring crashing waves in the shorelines, bathing in the scorching midday heat to finish capturing invisible spectrums of light, and staying up late in the evening to see lights from stars in the sky that traveled a billion years.

For Starters...

Bangui Sky Fire

This photo was shot in Ilocos, located in the northern part of the Philippines. when we got out of the van, we scrambled and ran to our picked locations, i just think of it as a morning exercise, running, feet sinking in the wet sands, adrenalin rushing in, all this thinking of what to shoot carrying all your gears.....

Well, as a reward for all of that, I got this

A medium difficulty trek, turned into a refreshing view. Waterfalls have always amazed me, they always give a refreshing feeling to me whenever we visit one.

this one is called Abungan Falls located in the Philippines

Milky Way Dreams

Milky way dreams

This shot was taken atop a mountain 2922 meters above sea level

I never imagined a measly Nikon D80 can take this kind of shot but of course, tools has its limits, camera noise is surely noticeable but what the heck the stars are worth staying up late taking the shot.

you'll just need proper equipment like high iso cameras and a decent lens with a f/2.8 aperture opening.

thanks for viewing

Crashing Aurora :)

This was a sunrise shot at the province of Aurora in the Philippines

This place is known for its crashing waves and the iconic sea stack that you see in the photograph. I can recall the sounds of moving pebbles and rocks sized bigger than 4 human fists combined being moved by the rushing, crashing waves, and the sound..... the "rumbles" it generates still lingers in my thoughts, pushing and reminding me to visit the place again!

"Mt. Doom"

well..... not exacty the "Mt. Doom" in J.R.R Tolkiens epic novel

This is a false color infrared shot in one of the coves in the Philippines, taken in a hot hot hot midday while my stomach is grumbling coz we haven't eaten lunch yet due to the opportunity to shoot the streaking clouds. Which i would have to choose between the two factors... eat lunch or have sunburns with the clouds in midday.... as you can see... i choose the latter

Mayon Volcano's Blue Hour

Mayon Volcano's Blue Hour

Here's an iconic landscape feature in the Province of Albay in the Philippines. The famous Mayon Volcano, known for its almost perfectly symetrically balanced cone.

It still remains active as you can see, some smoke still is coming out of it. A serence view, with a devastating past due to its previous eruptions in the past years
