Nikon 50mm AFS f/1.8 user review?

Hi there!
I am new to the forums here and was wondering if anyone who owns a Nikon AFS 50mm f/1.8 lens could give a quick review of it.
The lens I'm looking at is http://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/product/B...A3P5ROKL5A1OLE
I just want to know about the general all round performance of this lens ie. its sharpness, autofocus speed, the bokeh effect, any artifacts present etc. I would be using it for portrait and street photography and also as a general lens to replace/ accompany my kit lens on a Nikon D5100.

Cheers

It's a cracking lens. Nice and sharp. Hard to fault it really. Make sure you get the G version you have indicated here and not the older D version as it doesn't have an auto-focus motor so you would have to focus manually on the D5100.

Thanks for replying and I'll keep that in mind now when purchasing.
