Scott Kelby's books take some beating. He's done one on Elements 10 which Amazon are selling for about £24

I have 'Photoshop Elements' by Jeff Revell. ISBN; 978-0-321-80831-8. Great book with good workflow/layers/RAW editing along with many other tips and techniques, been invaluable to me lately as I look to improve.
