A few light reflectors can help so using flash guns as fill light. Generally with larger groups I just tend to get a few descent snaps with different exposure correction and then do the rest in photoshop. Its hard to get every single person looking at the same time so I end up chopping people in and out from different shots.

Composure, try to make a flowing shape and try to be symmetrical with the shape. Anyone thats got distracting colours on, have them disappear into the row backwards if there tall enough. Try and shot away from the sun but when its not to bright.

I assume you mean a group photo like all the guests lined up after a wedding.

yesi do, a group picture or potrait, just wanting that sharpness, but its probably better to shoot at a f5.6 - 8.

A shutter speed of 1/125

Most lens peek at around f/6-7.1 If your shooting with a flash, shoot with a shutter within range of the speed of the flash gun. Most decent spec guns are 1/250 max which should be plenty.

Once you’ve created a balanced and pleasing group pose, shoot as many images as you can in the short period of time you’ll have everyone’s attention. Fortunately, you’re a digital photographer, so you can quickly check your images to be sure everyone is looking at the camera, with their eyes open and smiling.
