Question A simple question..

Hi everybody!!
I have a simple question to you all, but from this we can stay here years speaking about this. How much is a reflex better than a superzoom (or bridge)? I know, a reflex is a reflex and any other camera can't reach its performances, but... I mean: a reflex is so better than a bridge for a not-professional photographer? And if yes, why? The only things I've noticed are Bracketing and Multi-shot not possible in RAW mode, the photos seem beautiful to me (with the post-roduction for the RAW files, obviously). If you want to have an Idea of my pics, you can find them here: http://500px.com/Alby_22!
Thanks for all the aswers!!

One thing: larger sensor (in most cases). The larger sensor on an SLR helps with bokeh. The same applies to detail for landscape, a larger sensor is better.

As Donoreo says......

But if it's a large(ish) sensor, not necessarily more than 10 or 12Mp and shoots Raw, what's missing? Interchangeable lenses - are they vital? In most cases, probably not. Useful if the lens is relatively fast, though - f/2.8 perhaps.

I agree, other considerations are with a DSLR you get selectable focus points, better noise handling in most cases and a more intuitive manual focus system. The zoom range is going to be an optical compromis as it iscovering such a wide range.

Bridge cameras are more portable and produce decent images but they can become quite awkward when you want to manually take control and there is limited expandability compared with a DSLR.

I own a Canon 7D and a Canon SX10IS, the SX10 is pretty good but I do find it frustrating when I spot an opportunity where I do need to take manual control or require more precise focusing.

The specifications of that Panasonic Lumix indicate a sensor that's way below the standard APS-C size for DSLRs (a clue is the bottom range of the zoom being only 4.5mm). The standard APS-C DSLR has a sensor of around 23x16mm (about 323 Square mm)- the Panasonic has just 6x4.5mm (27 Sq.mm)...... a vast difference. Huge zoom range (31-735mm in old money, though even the shortest focal length isn't really what you could call 'wide-angle').

Handy camera, with a very good lens........ but wouldn't compare with most DSLRs with even half the MegaPixels.
