I think the camera was set to raw, I can’t remember. I did exactly the same as you have stated, but on his mac air, the EOS utility just said no pictures of that type. Maybe it’s not set to raw. Will have to check next time I see it.

On my MacBook Pro, I am using Lion OS. With my EOS 50D, I just plug it in and image browser opens up asking if I want to select images for download or to just download. My MacBook wouldn’t recognise his camera, but then that would be because my version is too old, I will have to update it and try again.

I’m just confused as to why his MacAir and new software won’t recognise the camera, but they will recognise the images on the memory card from a card reader??!!.

Hi I have just been on the canon wed site and for the 5dmk3 there is no eos utility. check whats available from the link but this might explain things

This is great. Thanks for your effort. When I get hold of his laptop next, I will download and see. If all else fails, he will just have to continue using a card reader.!!!!!!
