Constant fail to upload

I have attempted, 6 times over a 5 hours period, to load a photo to the Current Mission: Macro gallery. It comes back with a 'Web Page unavailable' every time.

I am trying to load via teh quick load at the bottom of the gallery. When I refresh after the failure, it takes me to a more detailed upload image page, and it fails too.

Anything I should know, or any suggestions?

I feel your pain. I have experienced exactly the same problem whilst trying to upload a photo for the weekend comp.
The site crashed the other day so I don't know if that has anything to do with it.???
I can't give you any hints or tips I'm afraid. I just hope it's sorted soon.

Good luck.

The Invalid File error seems to be a standard message for a host of different problems but the one thing that I found was that if I uploaded an image larger than 1MB it would fail , as the site converts all images to a max 900 px width the sub 1MB file size doesn't matter .

Give it a go and see how you get on .

Thanks Mark. That's a possibility. I will give it a go.
Cheers

Sorry you're having problems uploading. What is the file size you're trying to upload? And what format?

I thought about size, but I presumed that loading for a 'competition', they would want originals. Surprise ... huh...

I just tried again on original, failed. Loaded a lo-res one, it loaded.

You'd think if there was a size limit or expectation, it would say so on the loading page, or in an error.

It would make life a lot easier if this kind of info was made clearer .

I think that if your image is picked for one of the competitions then you are contacted for a high res version by email .

Agreed, it would be better if they added this info to the actual upload page rather than have to click on a link for it, http://www.digitalcameraworld.com/fo...#cat_undefined

A few CSS issues on that page too.

I find it rather frustrating that photos of only 1mb are allowed on a photography site. I have some photos that are over 1MB and being a digital alien I don't know how to get them down to 1MB for this site.
Can anyone help with this??
Thanks
Chris
