Hi Argee great capture and nice and sharp in all the right places , I know I would be chuffed to pieces if I had got this shot so I hope you don't mind me asking about a couple of things .

The scene looks a bit under exposed , did you shoot in RAW to try different settings .

The background is nicely blurred but the edges of the bird shows signs of post processing work , did you carry out work on the background or did you have to clone out some distractions .

Well done on a great capture .

Mark

Yes, a great photo. It does look a tad under exposed which is a bit of a shame. But still, good work.

Thanks. It is underexposed because at the time I had to be quick to get the shot and didn't realise that my camera was still set on -2/3 exposure compensation. However when I saw it I felt that it gave more emphasis to the eyes and the evil look. I did brighten a little in Lightroom and then imported into Photoshop to blur the background bokeh more as I wanted to isolate the bird against the background. I accept there is signs of processing if you look closely. I now wish I had taken more time to make a better job. I guess I was overtaken by the excitement of the capture and was too hurried. Must have more patience in future ......

Good point about the eyes, it really does make them stand out. I dont imagine this is the sort of shot thats easy to capture, so you did well to get at all
