About rules and categories...

It is difficult for me to understand Editor's choice because many pictures, if you read rules and categories, are not in my opinion in the right category, for example, some black & white in "landscape" or "planet earth" (there is a "black & white" category or not?) or a photo like "to the future" in "destination everywhere" (there is a "digital vision" category) are not in the right place.
So, is it important to select the right picture for a photographer or it's enough to upload anything without rules? Is it serious?

I hope you understand the problem, sorry for my bad English

Bye

Well, the original POTY rules stipulate that digital manipulation is strongly discouraged, except in the Digital Vision category. Clearly there are images in the fashion, world in motion etc categories that have been digitally manipulated. So I am confused as well. Perhaps the organisers should do away with all rules (even the Editor's Top 50 is open to question as there are less than 50 images shortlisted in several categories)?

I think the editors choice is their favorite sellection, the overall top 50 is to come in November and is 5 from each category, Thats my understanding anyway.
