Up - Jediboy - Retro Toy

Ahhhh I know where you get your name from not that hard to figure out though LOL, a nice subject that transported me back to my childhood days although I was never allowed any of "That Plastic Rubbish" as my parents would of said, I think as a shot it could of been set out a little better such as surrounded by wrapping paper or something with a bit of retro processing to make it look like a birthday or christmas gift, as it stands it looks a bit to much like an ebay listing photo to me (just my opinion of course).

Down - Wotcars - Chive

Interesting shot this great processing and it is the sort of shot that my familly have in there photo albums along with me plastered in ice cream.

As always these are just my opinions.

Looking forward to the next challenge come on DD what is it hurry up
Already have the idea for next month's theme, just not got time to set up the threads..be patient, all will be revealed later tonight

Up - A day at the seaside.
Nice retro image well presented. It conjures up memories of trips to the seaside as a child, many happy memories. The Flintstones dinosaur ride is a nice retro touch too. Well processed image too. Well done.

Down - Fun of the fair.
Colourful image that also takes me back to my childhood. Great action shot that captures the joyful expressions of the people on the dodgem. I feel that compared to some other pictures it wasnt quite retro enough to my eyes, but still a great photo.

Thanks everyone for my votes, I'm happy that I won as I worked hard on the retro effect and spent (too many) hours practicing. All that was missing was a striped deck chair and a candy floss and it would have been 1973!!!!!!!

I likes all of the images, but heres my ups/downs -

Ups - LaPistola's Triple Hearts - I really liked the retro processing on this, and though it got my vote, I would have preferred to have been drawn to the heart rather than the lady in the background. It was the processing that pulled my vote more than the main subject. It looked like images i used to take with my old disc camera!

Downs - Jediboy's Retro Toys - Great idea, just felt that it lacked the retro processing. It looked like a picture taken today of something retro (which of course it was). if you get a chance, go to http://blog.spoongraphics.co.uk/tuto...-analog-effect it gives great, easy to follow tuition and its what I used to practice with. Would be interested to see the results as the toys are fab!

New theme pending!!!!

I did try a bit a post processing to give it a retro look but I guess it didn't work very well. It's all very new to me and there's a lot to learn.
Thanks for the link, I've been looking for a good website for photoshop tutorials.

Up - VW Retro Bug

As this is more about the PP than subject I would say this had a retro feel to the shot so job well done. This one is my number 2 and the only criticism I can find regarding the PP is I would have over done the highlights around the bumpers.

Down - Day at the see side

Great PP and composition. The angle is typical retro, the colours and style of the building made a great starting point. This one had my vote as the hole package was put together well. Criticism would be that for me the image needed some grain and there was a strange bit of blur top right?

No crit on other photo's this time. Leading by example I see I must have been mistaken with the requirement of a 3rd comment.
