Canon 40d and Speedlight 430exii

Can you use the 430ex ii wireless without any other equipment. I saw a video on youtube and the photographer had the 5d and it worked without anything else.

You would need to buy a wireless trigger for the 40d, newer canon cameras like the 60d, 7d and the 5d mkiii have the capability to control compatible flashes wirelessly.

I have a Nissin that works wirelessly with my 60D.
