Yes, OK - point taken! No worries - I've discovered a website with some examples - and they're a bit high for me, but then I've only looked at the islands that I know, so far, and perhaps they're a bit 'trendy'. I was just thinking of reasonably 'modern' things like water, gas, electricy, sewage and........ dare I say?...... cable?

Perhaps more accurately, you could say nobody works in Greece......

I've been checking properties online and, frankly, unless you're prepared to live very simply indeed, house prices aren't so different to the UK's, although you can live the high-life if you've got a million or so to spare. Crete seems to offer plenty of choice but I think I've lost interest in it.

Hi, Just an update to the OP.
The developer has put out an upgrade that has rectified the problem.
On the Greek question,
Without offense the comments "nothing works in Greece" and " " nobody works in Greece"
Are although probably made in jest are far from the truth and made I assume by hearsay.
From March when the people start to get there businesses ready for the season to the end of October the majority of working class people actually work 12 hours a day (if not more on occasion) and that is SEVEN days a week, even out of season for those who have jobs in offices they work 7:30 to 13:00 and then again from 17:00 to 21:00 Monday to Friday and some also to Saturday.
On the side of living in Greece, it is up-to the standards that many places in the UK offer, we don't go to the well for water we turn on a tap, I would say the only thing we don't have on par with the UK is Gas but how many countries do have natural Gas?
I believe you have a hose pipe ban in many parts of the UK? Whats a hose pipe ban? is the response you would probably get from a Greek, we don't have them, we have plenty of water.
Thank You for the replies
Russ

OK, apologies for the jibes...... all said in jest. I've been to Greece a couple of times but only to island resorts...... there wasn't really a 'working class' on them - plenty of people got up early and worked quite late.... but they did have their version of a siesta in the middle.

It was a little over 25 years ago, and we weren't allowed to flush toilet paper, showers could only be used in the morning and everybody drank bottled water.

I've heard about the UK's hose-pipe ban - but then I don't live there.
