A question about Infrared photography

Hi everyone!
I recently bought a Hoya R72 IR filter for my Canon 450d and have just been out to experiment and after a bit of trial and error have got the white balance correct. However, when I go into photoshop to reverse the red and blue channels, allthough the sky goes a nice blue colour, any buildings or cars in my picture have very strong blue accents wherever there is any blue on them and even on buildings which were originally white or brown. Could anyone help me on this? Thanks a lot!
