CHAT: Artificial Light weekend comp. for April 13th 2012

Hi folks my suggested theme for the weekend comp is artificial light.
I believe this is a theme that everyone can enter regardless of equipment.
If you live in a town there will be plenty of opportunity with shop and street lighting and if like me you live in a very rural/countryside, seaside area, we always have our flashguns, or failing that I'm sure we all have some candles around the house.

Great theme, there is a whole load of scope with this one.

Doing my 366 most of my photos are under artificial light. I seem to never get to do any of them until around 10:30 at night.

Don't worry DD, more chance of me burning myself.......I've lost count of the amount of minor burns I've had stoking my stove......

My head is buzzing with possible subjects, I've decided to have flame as my light source, but I need to choose a subject that will be complimented by said light source....

There was an article in April's DC mag about painting with light using a torch. This weekends theme would be a fantastic opportunity to try this out. It's a shame my hubby is off on a stag type day/night as I hate going out alone with my camera after dark.

There's a few shots I have done in the past that I really like and would fit the weekend theme. For those who can remember (if anyone is still here from a year or so ago) I did a picture using street lighting and my friend dressed as a 'lady of the night' trying to pick up a 'punter'. The artificial lighting made the image what it was. Having learned a lot of skills since then, I would love to have a go again but don't think my friend would model for me like that again!

I have an idea but think it is going to be a pretty tricky one to pull off but I will have a go, here is something I did a while ago that fits the theme:-

I remember your entry very well DD......The lighting couple with the slight noise made it a very gripping photo and if my memory serves me correctly, one which encouraged lots of chat...
I think I voted for it too......
