Hi all,
I am new to the forum i thought it might be a good idea to see what you guys thought of my photography as all comments/helpful critisism are welcome! I am mainly into Macro photography at the moment and particularly flowers. I havent been taking photos for long but have a strong passion for it at 43 its the first i have really enjoyed doing! and i hope my photos are good enough so eventually in the future i will be able to make a business out of it !

Hi Callum and welcome .

I think that flower macros are one of the hardest disciplines to conquer but get it right and the results can be outstanding , if you look through the gallery's for floral shots keep an eye open for the work of yappingjak , F11 and Maz to name just three and you'll see what I mean .

I don't think your image works too well because there's no one single focal point to hold my attention , a closer crop with a tighter depth of field to isolate just one or two points may work better or a much wider shot to show the entire flower with a nice out of focus background to make the bloom stand out more .

These are just my own preferences and I'm sure other members will have their own thoughts on your work .
