Question Ebay

Would you buy or consider buying from Ebay even if it is claimed to be in mint condition is it worth it

Yep definitely

Just make sure the price is right when you buy and you can get some real bargains. I've bought and sold loads of camera equipmwnr on Ebay including a Nikon D700 and a Nikon 24 - 70mm f/2.8 lens both still under warranty and in mint condition.

The latest lens I bought was a Sigma 120 - 300mm f/2.8 for about £550 the focus is off on one side and it's cost me £155 to have Sigma send it back to Japan where it will have a new optical core (amongst other things). When I get it back (assuming they assemble it right!) I'll have a lens with all the latest DG coatings which will have cost me £700 not a bad saving off the new price of £2500 at WEX.

If you pay by Paypal there are a number of safeguards which will return your money in the event of a dispute, also ebay will help if an item is not properly described, but most people will want a nice smooth transaction and are quite anxious to know that you as the buyer are happy with the item.

So go ahead and buy what you want, do a little research first on what others have fetched using the completed listings tab and when you find one you are interested in check the sellers feedback, that way you won't pay too much and you should get yourself what you want at a price your happy to pay.

Yep
I have and have picked up some real good deals, just take a look at feedback and look at the turnover if its a power seller, from that you will get a good idea if its a safe bet.
Also dont be worried about buying from over seas sellers just apply the same rules.
My self have brought lenses, filtters and all sorts of odds and ends.
I got a new Canon 17-85mm EF-F lens new for £200

go for it

i have bought loads of things off ebay, camera equipment and otherwise. as previously said, check the feedback. if possible i collect in person, that way i can pay in cash, and have a good look at the item before handing it over. also, that way you save on postage costs!

yep all the advice as above is very important, so your research and grab a bargain!

Ive been using ebay for a few years now and have bought and sold some very expensive items most notable selling my Macbook Air.

One top tip: Whatever you are looking for, try mispelling the item in the search option. If you find what you want with the incorrect spelling, the chances are you'll get a super amazing bargain as no one will be looking at it to compete in the bidding with you! I got my Canon 50mm Prime 1.8 for £27 using this method!

Ill also be selling a Canon 17-85mm, with C.Polariser and hood within the next week or so, just need to find some time to upload the listing!

I would buy used, and have purchased two lenses off Craiglist, but never from eBay. I need to be local and to test it out. I still prefer going to a store and shopping rather than sitting on my bum and ordering online. I like to see something before I buy it.

When buying from abroad remember that with the big companies (nikon, canon, sigma) offer worldwide warranties on their accessories and lenses, but the warranties on the camera bodies are regional.

You would need to check this if you are buying from someone else.
