Ennerdale water at sunset

I took this evening at Ennerdale water. I missed better light last night having seen it from home. The waether tonight was similiar so I set off with just enough time to get there.

Here is the first shot I have processed.

Beautiful light and it's not raining , the only little niggle I have is the rock bottom right .
Would love to visit the area again as last time I was there it rained for the five days of my holiday .

i know the railings work as leading lines but the place is so quaint, quiet, relaxing and still I feel they distract from the beautiful lake. Apart from that, its beautiful, great photo

i will look at removing the rock

The need for foreground interest to balance shot leads to using the fence.

Heres another shot

Great shot Alf,lovely warm lighting on the mountains.Pity the railing was not a wooden fence,it would have suited the setting more naturally.
I like your model too!

Des

P.S. Just uploading a shot I have from Blessington here in Ireland into my pf. The lighting is similar.

thanks for the comment.

I am not surprised you have shots with similiar light as we tend to get the same weather passing through as we get it right after you.

The railing is probably victorian as the whole of the hills were sectioned off in metal fencing where stones walls didnt exist.

Last one for me....some lovely light captured there, i find myself wishing the fence wasnt metal, wood would have been much more in keeping with the scene....in the last/dog shot...id probably have a look with it removed.

For me, it's a pity you weren't the other side of the fence and used the rocks as foreground interest. For me the railings interrupt the gorgeous light you've captured on the reflection and isn't drving my eyes to the whole scene, just the part on the right hand side.

Lovely dog - did you select him and brighten him up? I say this as he looks a little like he has been pasted in as the light on him is quite a lot brighter than the shadows he is standing in.

Thanks for the comment Shaun
The metal fence is probably victorian actually.

I will consider the other side of the fence next time but space is an issue due to a retaining wall.

The dog had some dodging but not much

I think I put the comment about the dog a bit more firmly than I intended. What I meant is that he looks a little detached from what he is stood on.

I haven't been to Ennerdale water yet. Looks stunning around there and you got great light
