I own the 550D and a 60D and on both I use the SANDISK Class 10 series cards or faster. They produce excellent video and allow for quicker use of continuous shooting.

Class 6 cards have a guaranteed minimum speed of 6Mb/s
Class 10 cards have a guaranteed minimum of 10Mb/s

A manufacturer can make a card that has a speed of 16Mb/s for example and then correctly describe the card as a class 6 while another can make a card that is 11Mb/s and correctly describe it as a class 10 card. This is why some class 6 cards are faster than some class 10 cards .......
