Really, don't go.
Got my theme and will post it up tomorrow and to be honest Jimmy may well find it to his liking I would say it will be "right up his lighthouse" if you excuse the expression.

HAHA *HOW RUDE*...LOL

OK Time for my ups and downs - been doing college work since 4:30 this evening, it's now 10:30 and I am absolutely worn out......

Ups - Pea's Parallel Verticals - A lovely take on the theme, you go the rule of thirds spot on for the horizon, great composition and you captured the reflections well. Good entry.

Down's - Paul's Perspective Lines - I liked this image, met the brief and great lead in lines. A strong entry. Gonna miss you paul :-(

Thanks for my votes donoreo, highlanscenic, wodm and zigga01. Much appreciated. Went for a simple take on parallel lines and the image screamed for a B&W conversion. Pleased to come second. I had a few different images to consider as entries, but glad I chose the one I did.

Looking forward to this weekend's theme, as I have both Saturday and Sunday to take pics. Last Saturday I was at work.

I have not done my ups and downs.

I voted for DD's power lines. I liked the simplicity of it.

Up - Trolley Lines - There were just too many lines for me, it seems cluttered as a result, I am not sure where my eye should go.

Down - Cardiff Church Great lines, but it is the background that throws me off. Perhaps a wider aperture to blur it out more would be better. Or just yell at people to get out of the way

Well done Kerbside! An excellent shot and it got my vote. Now why didnt I think of that Great interpretation of the theme, liked the bw processing and the dof just made the shot. Overall, a great photo.

Ups
kezpock's 'Parallel Pylons' - nice take on the theme with the 2 different ideas for parallel lines. I like the way the tractor(?) lines leads you into the other set of parallel lines, the pylons with their parallel cables. My only crit would be that the tree on the RHS is a little distracting and dominating the shot a little.

Downs
Pea's 'Parallel Verticals' - beautiful shot, and got my 2nd vote. very clever and original take on the theme. I cant fault it. Excellent.

My shot was a little rushed (oops) so no surprises that I didnt get any votes. Kezpock - thanks for your critique and yes, I see what you mean about the bottom RHS, but I couldnt crop it out because then I would have cropped half of the design on the gate. In hindsight, I should have used a different angle.

Thanks for the critique Deena - I agree about the tree, but glad you spotted so many parallels in there!

Well done Kerbside on a great win, as for the well it got my vote against some very stiff competition it was a great idea and very well executed.

up - Wotcars - Railings

Really nicely clean shot, great composition I believe someone else said it and I agree I think a nice B & W conversion would have worked with this but still a great image that stood out.

Down - Donero - Triangle lines

Another great shot, hit the theme really well, simple but very effective not sure if a slightly tighter crop on the bottom may have given it slightly more impact.

Thanks for the crit donero you are right, there is no focal point in the image not a very good entry from me to be honest in fact pretty poor that last few comps. I have found with everything else going on at the moment I have had little time to work on my entries, hopefully I will find more time.

Sorry to hear you are leaving Paul and Dan I hope you get your head together and come back soon.

Great comp last week - I voted for kerbside's No Parking Here so no complaints there. It's a stunning shot in it's clarity combined with a fantastic angle. (Not too sure about the borders though :-))

Above: deena - Lead Me Up The Garden Path
Nice contrasty shot with a great angle. I think it's already been mentioned about the bottom right-hand-side - I think I would have tried 'white'ing it out (in contrast to the shadow above). Nice entry though.

Below: DigiDiva - The National Grid
Really nice shot with the beautiful cloud sitting low in the shot, the rolling hills, the strong verticals and the parallel wires. Great stuff. I also appreciate the care you've taken to get good symmetry in the corners.

hedgehog, I seem to remember you had another 'railings' shot in your flickr stream (a high-key one)... I reckon that was the one to enter - I loved it! ;-)

Haha, next time I'll make sure to pack my megaphone so I can make people move out of my shots donoreo!

Thanks pea24, this one? I did like this one better but because there were already a few entries of just railings I thought I'd try something a bit different. Never mind, I'll try to get in the competition quicker this weekend!
