Nice artistic style to your image, I really like the way the texture on the metal is coming out and I like the black and white effect, the only thing I'm not sure about is the bottom right corner where you can see something else.....

A nice natural shot but for me it's a bit busy and although those are parallel lines, i wouldn't really say they are leading because they don't really go anywhere far! - if you see how i mean!! Nice natural colours for spring.

I voted for Kerbside because as soon as I saw it I loved it, nice black & white conversion and a very fitting image for the photographer that took it!

Interesting week this week.

Up - The national grid
Very much liked the processing in this image with a faultless b&w conversion. The subject matter however was not really my taste.

Down - Knock Knock
My eye was drawn towards the window rather than the parallel lines in this shot. Very nice door though, better than my pvc cookie cutter one ...!

Thank you Dan for your vote too.

Going to pretty much dropping out of the forum competitions now for various reason which I don't want to go into for fear of causing a rut, so good luck moving forward and I'll still vote when I can.

Paul

Great win Jeff, great image well thought out and well executed.
Thank you for my votes.
Up: twinnie: Keep your distance: Well spotted lines although they were not obvious, I guess you were excited about that car?

Down Wotcars Railings, really fit the theme well, nice shot may have looked more interesting in Mono, but hey that's only my opinion.

Sorry to hear your bowing out Jimmyosram you will be missed, I would like to know your reasons even if they cause a Rut as you say, its best to air your thoughts so we don't loose anymore entrants for perhaps the same reason as yours.

Jeff, congratulations! I was torn between your 'kerbside,' and Pea's trees. I'm afraid the romantic in me was stronger than my 'gritty' persona this time, so my vote went to Pea.

Ups and downs.

Up Fishbones Lines. Nice to see you again Fishbones!
The photo was bang on theme, and I can't fault it.

Down Kezpock's Pylons. Same comment as for Fishbones: Can't see anything wrong with it, so what can I say?

This week's competition shows what great weather we had recently. Most could have been summer shots!

My own entry was a 'lucky' shot, that I came across while working on something else. If I come across another 'fitting' picture for next week's competition, I may enter again, otherwise, I go back into retirement. (Actually, doing other photo things.)

Jimmy/Paul, your entries will be greatly missed! And I'm not sure I agree with Mark's plea to make your reasons public.

Yes, it may prevent other people leaving, but only if the problems can be solved. (And I fear, they may be too ingrained.) If not, there will, again, be a lot of ill feeling and people will get hurt. Difficult!

A big thank you to all that voted for me, must admit it got more votes than i ever expected.

Up - Cardiff Church
Great shot of the railings but the overall picture was spoilt by the blown out background.

Down - Penthouse
Don't quite know what to say about this pic, the lines are there, focus is good but it just did not do it for me, sorry. Maybe not enough contrast between black's & and white's made it overall quite bland. No offence just my view.

As for the borders, you either like them or hate them and for grey scale i like them.

I agree with the others paul, you have a great talent and your entries will be missed. As you know i am a massive fan of your photography and hope I can still come to you for advice if I need it.

Will do ups and downs later this evening as I don't feel it appropriate to add it to this comment.

I know, Kerbside need to pick "seascapes with a lighthouse", Jimmy will not be able to resist!

Really, don't go.
