Advice-Selling canon 50D

Hi peeps, I want to sell my 50d which is about 3years old, 2batteries, 17-85mm lense with polarizor.
I was thinking of ebay but someone said, they and paypal take a large cut. Does anyone know of a place to sell my gear?

Cheers

Well it's advertised here now Mark!
Don't know much about on-line selling but we have a few other less well known sites here in Ireland like 'gumtree;buyandsell'.They are quite successful. The cost is minimal to place an ad and take no cut of the sale price.
Does your local newspaper offer free adds, spread the word in your local camera club or put a notice in your business window, hope this is helpful.
Now,what kit are you thinking of?

I sold my D80 body through eBay and to be honest I did not think their charges, and those of PayPal to be unreasonable. Even after all the fees I ended up with nearly three times what I had been offered as a trade-in.

I don't think I would consider Gumtree - I've heard bad things about them and they don't seem to offer the same protection as eBay/PayPal if things go wrong.

Thanks Ashley, may end up going that root for security and protection.

The other way to do it is to sell the items on amazon through a seller account, the nice thing there is you can specify the price and you know up front how much you will actually get.

I have shifted quite a few things that way.

Seller account is free to set up and when you add what you want to sell they tell you how much they take and the total amount you will receive, I remember when I did a lens it was less than eby but it may have changed but worth a look.

Let me know what u choose and how it goes, as I anna get shot of my (poor lonely, unloved) 1000D. I'm sure someone starting out would be interested. It's still a decent 1st time DSLR.

I need cash as son getting wed in June and you know how much weddings cost!
