noise

hello everyone

I have been in portsmouth today taking some pictures with my canon 500d and a 17-85mm lense. even though i have been using my ISO setting on 100 all day, i am still
getting some noise in the pictures. Why is this happening.
i would show some pics but do not know how to upload onto forum.

If you create an album you will have the option to upload photos.Go to the FAQ section in the blue header bar at the top of each page(second icon on the left side) and type in 'how to upload photos' and click search.

I don't suppose you were at Clarence Pier, were you?
I was there yesterday and saw a bloke touting a Canon (So, I tripped him up with my Nikon neck-strap).
See if you can upload some of your pics and we'll see if we can solve your problem.

I believe there are several ways to do this, but the simplest (I think) is open the Forum Page and select 'My Stuff' from the banner headings just above the 4 images chosen at random. From the drop-down menu click on 'My Images'. When the page opens 'Upload' is one of the choices in the banner or 'Upload Images' at the foot of the page - They both work the same.

Make sure your images are under 2 MB in size, but don't make them too small as we won't be able to see what's going on.

Found your pictures........ but no noise to speak of. The one of HMS Dragon (the ship on its own) has a small dust spot on the sensor - it's probably present in all the shots but that's the only one that has a clear background for it to show up. So either fix it in a photo-editor (clone stamp or Spot remover) or get the sensor cleaned.
