Well done. I like the way you have filtered the sun behind the building.

I think what you have here is one of those nearly shots everything in your image is lovely , the sun behind the building the colour in the sky the detail on the ferry and the exposure is spot on but all of those things seem a bit cramped in the middle of the frame .
If the composition was altered you would have a cracking shot , I don't want to go on about the rule of thirds but I do think it would help with this image .
The other thing that I think doesn't help with the composition is the border you added top and bottom it just increases the feeling of squashing everything in the middle .

All the right elements just not necessarily in the right place .

These are just my personal preferences .

I am not a big fan of borders or frames either and only use them myself as a gimmick really to replicate polaroid or film. An alternative could be some sort of vignette or light fall off if you must do something with the photo.

This is a litlle different to the usual sunset/sunrise pictures that litter the galleries of all forums in as much it has something 'going on' within it.

Well composed, with the bird in the top right keeping your eye from wandering out of the pictuire on that quarter of the frame, the same can be said for the boat's wake and the strong silouhettes of the buildings right..

Nice movement in the water highlighted by the reflected light and just the suggestion of activity on the far shore given by the pinpoints of streetlights, andf the central building tells that it is somewhere that has solidity.

Can't give any advice as to how it could be improved, not qualified so to do.

Like Abers, I think this is something a bit different from the standard sunset shot, which is very appealing. There are a few points of interest, like the birds and the boat. You can almost hear the crash of the waves and the call of the sea gulls. A nice shot indeed.

Great shot, slight cropping on the right side before the bird I think would help balance it a little, but a great shot
