Do join in Clicking Girl; I weave in and out of the competition, and it's time I took leave again, so you can keep the numbers up!
(We're a good and happy bunch, hope you are used to the, mainly English humour.)

Can anyone explain the correct lighting set up for people unable to use a studio?

Chris,

I followed this type of setup as shown below.

Camera was set as follows. .2sec or 1/5, f5.6, iso 100 with a +2 EV

Hi Chris
I haven't got any fancy lighting so I'm gonna do
it in processing afterwards.

Basically a white image on a white background
with little contrast and shadow.

Good Luck

Thanks for that, useful for us all to know. Do you have/have use of a studio? II was more referring to our own little set ups at home. I have been lucky enough to learn about and do high/low key in studio, but at home is different. We won't all have the lighting that would reach anywhere near the power needed, nor the space or number of lights required.

I was more wondering how we cam set this up at home for best results. I (as TwinniE has mentiond), have done it before with a white background, +2 F stops and a little pp after. I'm hoping my new off camera flash will come in handy. Not used it yet and itching to try. It might be good for preventing shadows.

DD you don't need a studio to do high key, here is an example where my key light was the good old current bun (Sun).

Natural light can be used as a key light.

Dave, thats a fab photo but I thought you needed to bounce some of the light from a white background for it high key.
