Thumbs up Camera Shops Reccomendations

Following on from the Jessops Thread and the fairly concise opinion with most branches being poor and on the whole with a service level to match I thought it might be helpful if we posted links to the independant camera dealers that we know of or use and who we would be happy to reccomend to somebody just starting out..It could save them a lot of heartache and will help the independants remain just that..INDEPENDENT. Hopefully the Mods can make this thread a sticky to help new or established readers which dealers are nearby them and hopefully encourage them to support an independant trader...

So to start the Ball Rolling I will post a link to Mifisuds still based in the once sleepy fishing town of Brixham in Devon..Nice family well known and respected in the area and further afield I shouldn't wonder..Go shopping, have an ice cream and some good fish and chips while you are there..There's a cracking chippie just up the road on the other side..

Excellent idea, I will sticky the thread...

Also, I've used the following retailers (either online, in person or both) and they have given me nothing but impeccable service, excellent advice and good value:

Park Cameras, Burgess Hill, West Sussex
Warehouse Express, Norwich
Ace Cameras, Bath
Ffordes Photographic, Inverness-shire
Harpers Photo, Woking, Surrey
Calumet, stores across the UK
London Camera Exchange, stores across the UK
CameraWorld, London & Chelmsford

Good idea Bal, I have used:

Carmarthen Camera Centre

Formatt Filters for filters

Also as Chris says, Park Cameras, Warehouse Express and Calumet.

Another one of interest to all those people who want stepping rings, filters, reversing rings, lens/body adaptors and just about anything like that:

Hi there,

There's a list of camera shops in our directory here:

http://www.photoradar.com/camera-equ...lers-directory

It could point out some new places of interest, or jog your memory for those that you might have forgotten about...

I have not been into this shop but I have spoken to them on the phone and they couldn’t be more helpful.

No word of a lie... best shop in the UK!

Ask for Mark or Chris. Great deals, ace second hand gear and they can fix anything better than new

If you contact them... tell then Jim said to call
