Thanks Chris.
I was very surprised to see me and hedgehog in first place!
Congratulations hedgehog on your winning portrait too.

Girl Power!!

Thanks to Alan46, Cutter, ianpinion, Jerry WSL, jimmyosram, kerbside, wavemachine for your votes. Much appreciated.

How do we decide on the next comp Chris?

I don't mind if you want to decide the next comp hedgehog, as I won last year with my "Rough" entry.

Well done Twinnie and Hedgehog! Congratulations on your shared win.

Found it very difficult this week. I had a series of favourites; Hedgehog’s beauty, with very clever pp thrown in; Wavemachine’s clownesque shot; Kerbside’s tortured face, and Don’s eyes.
It was going to between those four ...

Till Cutter’s cry for help appeared!

This went straight to my heart; it had emotion and feeling. It portrayed the agony of a man praying to the Sun God, for good weather for his kite shooting session; there might even have been more to it, but no one listened! No one else felt his pain!
Mark, just know that I’m always there for you! I can, and I will listen, and nothing goes any further!

Apart from the emotion, I liked the blackness; it reminded me of a stage shot of the late Johnny Cash, another great, another favourite. Or maybe I subconsciously connected with it, because Mark is reaching for the light. And light is very important to me, for obvious reasons.

My ups and downs:
Up, Kerbside’s Torn up face, rang all sorts of bells and was a contender, but didn’t make it, because another man took hold of my heart.

Down, Highlandscenics X Ray. Sorry Matthew, liked the idea, but I found it too negative. I prefer your strawberry blonde hair.

I’m grateful to Kez for her vote; at least I’m not a nillie this week. Then, out of the blue, Jos Zwart added his vote, doubling my score! Thanks Jos! Too many votes might have brought my under cover operation into jeopardy, so it is good that the picture wasn’t too popular.

My ‘Under Cover Blonde,’ was, in fact, my second choice. My favourite, was also favourite with quite a few others, but ... it had two other people in, so I couldn’t enter it as Dan stated it should only contain the photographer.

I’ll show it here, for those of you who haven’t seen it, and wonder what I’m on about.

This is very exciting! Congrats TwinnieE Yours was such a clear shot, mine always blur when I try to take them in the mirror. I loves your processing as well.

Thanks to dan123, donoreo, karenoliver, ogri1st, Semaj, simjol, wodm for their votes

I really enjoyed this competition, every one has really nice and original entries.

My vote went to Dan123 - I liked the clarity of this shot, the light from behind, and I thought the flash ring in your eye really pulled the whole thing together.

I also really liked Wavemachine's shot... it was between yours and Dan123's, but I noticed that the back of the collar was missing and I think if you'd have managed to photoshop it on it would have completed the picture. Ha, being massively overcritical, being joint first has made me all superior

Digidiva was also a close one for me, but after the third consecutive nightmare I decided not to vote for you Only joking, I really liked the use of texture.

Down- Cutter... I loved this too You must have put a lot of thought into your light position, and it works really well.

TwinnieE, I don't mind about the theme... maybe one of us could think of three ideas and the other pick out of those three what they'd prefer?

There was no way you could not have the weather!

You get the weather you deserve.

(This is a free translation of a Dutch saying; I'm not sure whether it also is an expression in the English language.)

And yes, the kites are beautiful, didn't expect anything else!

Well done to both ladies. I will do ups and downs later.
As for me, well it was a reluctant, pathetic submission as I did not have a lot of enthusiasm for the subject and guess what the poll proved it.

Thanks everyone.
I thought all the entries were really good this week and I really enjoyed seeing what everyone looks like!

Up Don't Lose Your Head! - Wavemachine

This got my vote Dave.
I thought it was very original and loved your expression. Well done!

Down All Cut Up - Kerbside
Very creative shot and great processing too.

Myself and hedgehog will come up with a new topic very soon!
