Tilting at Windmills

This is shot from tonight of an old windmill near where the old Blyth Power Station once stood. The chimneys in the centre of the photo are of Lynemouth Power Station which provides power to Alcan foundry, Northumberland.

Its a nice night shot, did you light the windmill with a torch? I must admit I did think the stars were photoshopped in to start with. A long exposure might have been nice with having so many stars, to create star trails.

Very nice shot particularly like the way the power station gives a menacing glow to such a peaceful foreground .

Great photo. It does look like a go place to do a star trail. The windmill would be great foreground. I was just reading in the Dec issue of DCM about doing star trails.

I think the north star is right in the left hand top corner so if I moved around a bit to my right I could get a star halo going on

Great shot I agree a definate candidate for a star trail shot, you may already know but there is a nice piece of software that will combine the shots here I have used it and saves a lot of mucking about in PS.
