Arrow Photo uploader

So far, I like the site.
Learning curve is satisfactory and I like the site so far despite the ads, since I really don't notice them that much as many people pointed out.

What I would like to see, is multiple photo uploader similar to "flickr uploader" (http://www.flickr.com/tools/).
Why?
Because I do not upload regularly and would like to be able to upload few photos at the time. Uploading one by one is pretty time consuming.

Thanks Roni, Glad you like the site.

We'll look into whether a multiple upload is possible.

Best wishes,

Amy

The photo upload mechanism is too slow, too many mandatory fields and having to enter your name and password again is a pain.

Its a photography website forum thing - people moaned about the gallery on DCM- I never used it, and I wont use this unless things are improved. Like a lot!

I second the 'multiple uploader' idea.

Also, has anyone noticed that when you are editing an already-uploaded photo, the text runs over the top of the entry boxes, meaning the screen is very cluttered?

Aside from that, liking the site so far!

Got to agree, i have just spent quite a bit of time uploading some images that would take far less with a multiple uploader, i could understand one photo at a time if it was not a photography site. I take lots of images and normally upload in batches, very rare i only have 1 or 2. I particularly like the Facebook method of multiple uploads.

I'm not keen on Facebook at all. As a website in general I think the layout and functionality is horrific, and I genuinely don't understand how it became as popular as it has over all the rival social networking sites, most of which have far more user-friendly layouts.

When it comes to great uploaders - Flickr wins hands-down, imo

Hi everyone,

Multiple uploader is something we are giving consideration to. However, some people have stated that they would prefer to see the photo upload limited to 1 per day, so we need to be mindful of everyone's opinions on this.

Thanks,

Amy

Limiting photo uploads to one per day is a far too restrictive. The vast majority of people take plenty of photos that they want to upload and share with everyone. IMO people are not going to be prepared to come back each day to gradually upload a series of photos, most will want to upload a batch of photos and 'be done with it'.

I would agree with the earlier comment that the Flickr uploader is the best uploading tool around, it is soooo easy to use; selecting the photos tp upload is straightforward, ading a title, description and tags is a doddle as well....far easier than what is currently on offer on the new PR site.

I agree you need a multi photo uploader, I use flickr also and love the way its done there. Select what you want then walk away. I have about a hundred photos to upload and will not spend 3 months doing it at one a day rate.
One a day, come on, its a photography site.

I tend to process my photos in a batch when i get time, then upload at the end of session. The one at a time system is just too time consuming.

Without a multi uploader I wont be putting up a gallery, good luck with the new site

I have been a member of some other sites where photographers are limited to a max of 3 photographs per day.
The reason given was that if multiple uploads are allowed the storage area for these uploads would need to be greatly increased.
It was also stated that after one Month the photograph would be removed to allow further uploads, and that one month was plenty of time for comments to be made about each photograph.
If a multiple uploader was made available I would suggest a limit of 3 to 5 max per day, the site is relatively new and already has over 1000 members and if the full members each loaded 3 photos per day no one will ever get to see or make comments on each photograph.
This would then be unfair to the photographer who has tried to get constructive comments be he or she amiture or proffesional.
