DD I would delete your last post, never a good idea to post e-mail addresses directly on forums as spammers can pick them up etc.

If you do need to give someone an e-mail address it is advisable to post them a private message.

Not sure if yours is a new gun, but I used one a couple of years ago with my 7D and yes it worked OK
If your camera is producing a flash with the flash head raised I would forget all about any other flash setting on your camera for the present.

I cannot find an image on the 'net showing the rear of the flash, but assume it will be the same as the one I used.

Off Camera Use (Slave function)
The switch on the right of the flash marked (S OFF) is to set the flash into slave mode, normally you would have this off, but if you want to use the flash off the camera this mode detects the flash from your on-camera flash and triggers itself. Again this is a fully manual option so you need to set zoom and intensity using the LCD on the back. For the slave function to work light from your on-camera flash must reach the red transparent part on the front of the Jessops flash.
