Matthew, have you realised all the women on line, are running to welcome you? You have been missed.

Now about the gallery. I noticed you uploaded at least one photo, which I found, I think, in one of Kerbside's folders.

IWhen you upload a picture, you'd best put it in the 'member's category' and do not try ot make a sub category.
As far as I can make out, Cathus has managed ot have subcategories that are still his, but some of the others (Lurkalot, Karenoliver and Kerbside) nhave lots of 'squatters' in their folders.

I discoverd this by naccident, when I innocently labelled a photo as 'miscellaneous' and found myself in Lurkalot's domain.

Am I the only one who has these sort of problerms? (In which case it could be my age or eyesight!)

Sorry Matthew, don't want to put you off, now that you have found the site again!

Got myself some outdoor gear in the sales, so come Spring I'll be taking up hiking again, also had a few shouts from some mates to go on a weekend camp in March. Looking forward to that, beats a sweaty old gym...lol

To make layers easier, on the top of the Photoshop screen, select Windows and then Layers and Channels. This will open the Palettes with layers as a sub-folder. To click on the sub-folder, to make it active if it isn't, and every time you create a new layer it will appear here. To make a layer active just click on the one you want in the layer palette. You can also hide layers by clicking on the 'eye' icon for each layer you want to hide.

Thanks for that OldBoy. I did manage eventually but it wasn't easy and ended up doing it on pixlr rather than PS. Will now give your instructions a try. I need to learn what my new toy can do!

What can i say Mark, over to you again, well done and a good take on the subject.

UP -STARS
Loved the look of this picture and it got my vote.looks like a great place to see stars or do star trails.

DOWN - GUILT TRIP
Took this the wrong way originally (thought that it referred to being pressured into an entry). Nice pic but thought that the emphasis should of been more on the work out studio rather than the tree. To be honest i thought it was a building with workmen inside ( looks like a tall set of steps on the upper level) must get my readers tested.

As for my effort, well a bit of PP in the sky as i am trying to get use to Photoshop, also i was not going to bother entering but the women on here got to me.

Thanks for the people that voted for me. as always it is much appreciated.

Thank you to all who voted for me .My daughter will be pleased because she got arm ache.
My vote went to TwinniE loved the setup, and the exposure is very difficult in snow.

Up Hedgehog: The small things: A nice photo that showed a lot of warmth, nice composition keeping the points of interest in the thirds. Perhaps a tighter crop may have worked a bit better. IMHO

Down Donero: Santa: great looking shot very christmassy, love the lighting, although the focus looks on the berries insted of father Christmas or is it my eyes!!!

Will come up with another theme shortly, but the next one is going to push you, you will have to think even more. Just need to know how to word it.

Congrats to Cutter on the win. I voted for Kerbside's last minute shopping. It looks like a place and time I would like to visit.

Up - Cutter - I almost voted for it, but I went for the outdoors shot. Still a good job.

Down - Wavemachine - Excellent job on processing. Putting the face on the ornament is well done.

Great win Cutter. I thought it was a brialliant idea and well executed. The only thing that I wasn't keen on was that the fingers went a little grey at the end (due to the vignette I guess).

I voted for Jimmyosram's Stars - I loved the colours, the glow and of course the stars!

Above - ogri1st: Guilt Trip
The shot itself was a little noisey but I really liked the situation you'd spotted with the lone figure. Brilliant!

Below - TwinniE: Snowman
Very nicely exposed with perfectly white snow. My only critisism is the shadow on the monkey. Great idea though!

Cheers
Dave.
