Advise about laptop screen for photo editing

Hi all,
My laptop has broken down and I'm looking for a replacement. I mainly use it for photo editing and I'm looking for a laptop with a good screen. Any advise?
I know Macbooks have great screens, but they're also expensive. Are there any 'regular' laptops that come with similar quality screens? Or would those be in the same price range as Apple?
As I'll be travelling with it I really need a laptop, not a desktop monitor.

Thanks a lot!
Sylvia

You should be able to pickup a reasonable laptop for around £400-500.
Look around on the net and see what 's availsble

Thanks for the answer. I know I can get laptops for almost any value. But my question is which ones come with good screens for photo editing? I know that the lower end laptops don't have great screens in terms of resolution etc.

something like this may suit you

At around £600 its not cheap and for around another £400 you could get a macbook pro

Have a look at this one. http://www.expertreviews.co.uk/lapto...lite-l755d-12l I've got a Toshiba myself and never had a problem with it. You can also review other laptops on this Computer Shopper site, and it gives you a good indication of what models to go for.

I've been using an Asus laptop which has a 17inch screen for 3 years and is much better than most standard laptops, though it is heavier and whilst it does have a great screen I prefer to process photos on my desktop PC with 26inch screens any day over a laptop,

The alternative would be to get a good laptop and connect a better desktop screen to it.
