Ok, I'm in with this, many light sources so should fit the brief.

The really sad thing is we don't even have Xmas lights in our town due to council cut backs, really irritates the hell out of me as they have started charging for sea front parking all year round, have halved our bin collections and did absolutely nothing last year to clear roads and pavements during the snow grrrrrrr!

I do have a couple of ideas to explore although one of them will take a while to do so need to see how my day pans out.
A month ago would have been a bit early, but couldn't you have done it this weekend?

I see Tammy already has you well trained! Hat off to her!
I stupidly set up our first tree in the first year of our marriage, and since then it has always been my task!
Thank goodness we now have a small artificial one, with led lights, not a problem to set up and switch on!

Can you get there with all that snow? Or isn't it as bad as they let us believe?

Roads were treacherous this morning, mostly fine now although more snow is forecast overnight. The council were about as fast as a 3 legged donkey responding to it, but they are on top of it now. The road to Ullapool which is where I get the ferry from on Wednesday (and just under an hours drive away) was meant to be really bad.

Good news is though tomorrow is going to be rain/sleet and Wednesday is meant to be clear. So as long as I can get to the ferry terminal I should be ok. Back on Thursday early evening, which is lucky as the arctic conditions are set to make a return on Friday......

I don't know about Matthew but this was my car today when I left Work Reinardina.

Love that area Matthew Glen Torridon (A896) had me thinking for a wee while as the Map was the other way up.

Hmmm Hope the two of you (and everyone else caught in those circumstances) drive carefully!

In Holland loads of people switch to 'winter tyres' (literally translated from Dutch, don't know if there is a different English word for) in the autumn, to get/keep better grip. 'Down here,' people always look as if I'm mad when I mention it.

Do you, in Scotland, change tyres in winter? Or use chains or something similar? (Just out of interest, as I haven't driven a car since Matthew was three years old!)

some use winter tyres if you can get them I did see an advert from a company that hires them out for the winter season and stores your ordinary tyres securely

I personally have never changed mine and I am not alone hence a little bit of snow and Britain comes to a stand still. It took me over two hours to get to work when it normally takes ¾ of an hour.
