COMMENTS ON 120-400 or 150-500mm LENS

I am using a Nikon d7000 mainly for sporting/football matches.

The main lens being used is a Sigma 70-200MM 2.8, sometimes combined with a 1X4 Sigma teleconverter.

Most of the action can be caught, but not for goalmouth action unless thats where I happen to be. My main position is 10 metres either side of the centre line for convenience.

As I can't afford a prime lens has anyone taking sports photos any experiences with either the Sigma 120-400mm or Sigma 150-500mm.

Any other suggestions within a reasonable price range would also be appreciated

Regards
TJC

Out of the two the 120-400mm would be better as it is F5.6 at the 400mm range. You could also consider the Nikon 300mm F4, which cost under £1,000. Just checked the Nikon website and you can use older AIS lenses so, check those out.

Thanks OldBoy for your comments
After lots of hours looking at internet reviews I decided on the 120-400mm , not only for the sports but possibly wildlife with the 1x4 converter attached.
Should be interesting times ahead.
Will try and post some photos for anyone's comments.
Many thanks
TJC
