Thoughts on the Canon EOS 5D MKIII

I currently have a EOS 5D MKII and was wondering if it was worth upgrading to the MKIII. I've had a look around and found the product description and features on the Jessops site (they seem to provide fairly good info) here http://www.jessops.com/online.store/...4404/show.html

What doesn't appear to be particularly obvious is why this camera is such a killer. I thought there were going to be vast improvements on the MKII but that doesn't seem to be the case. They appear to have just tweaked things. Am I missing something? Does anyone have in depth knowledge on this new camera please?

I don't have any in depth knowledge but I was quite underwhelmed when I saw the specs.

It seems that unless you are into video with the 5D, the better focusing and couple of frames per second extra aren't going to persuade me to spend three grand upgrading my 5D MkII.

I can't say I noticed any particular problems focusing with the MkII and the extra frame rate might be handy for action stuff, but generally so what?

Feels more like an in between of the MKII and 1DX, core features for me are better low light handling, better weather sealing, better focus system, more focus points, dual card slot and better burst.

I am wonderiing if Canon will still continue to produce the MKII as a cheaper full frame camera and maybe even drop the price.

Unless you went high end, it seemed previously that if you did weddings, landscapes, wildlife and sports then you would probably need a 7D and 5DMKII as a pro in the article pointed out it is still cheaper to buy a 7D and 5D MK II, for the traditional photos the 5D MKII was used for I am not convinced the improvements to the focus system are necessary however if the intention is for sports, wildlife and low light then it will be very handy.

As for video well I can count the number of times I have used that on my 7D on one hand.
