No need to apologise wodm. It is a busy time of year for many and for those of us that didn't set about at the beginning of December when the theme was announced, have either left it too late or entered a rushed effort.

Well the comp has closed and I will get a poll up this morning. Seems like an age since I posted my "SHowgirl" pic.

Not sure why the turn out is so low on this, time of year in my opinion does not have a lot to do with it as everyone has had a month to compile something.

The question has to be asked, do people want the monthly comp to continue, I for 1 do but with these sort of numbers as entries it hardly seems worth it, horse to water and all that.

Anyway will put poll up later this morning.

Personally I have found the monthly comp really useful, I enjoyed the smoke one as I had never tried photographing smoke before and learnt a completely different set up, Duo Tone initially didn't light my fire but having experimented with it I am a convert so thank you for that and it gives me another way to view subjects.

I feel even if only a small number take part then we have all benefitted and even those that don't join in benefit from seeing what we have come up with and learnt.

I do think the time of year does have a part to play, change in season, darker nights and a nagging sense of panic with Xmas approaching knowing there are other things we ought to be doing even if we can't.

I think the regulars need to try and get a bit more momentum going earlier on in the comp by showing some early efforts (a variety) in the chat thread to try and give examples to inspire others, I tried to do this but left it a bit late so will try and do this earlier next time.

So YES I want us to keep it going.

OK. I have tried to set the poll up 3 times now and nothing appears in the forum so think that there is a link or something missing.
I have asked the powers to be to look into this. Can't do a lot more at this stage, if someone else wants to try then feel free, other than that i will wait for a reply.

Cheers

Oh dear,is this fate? I'm sure someone will be able to sort it.

I agree to continue with the monthly comp, see if it pics up as the daylight lengthens. I can't get out AM or PM week nights, as I go to work in the dark and come home in the dark. Weekends have been used for the odd photo effort but in the most. wekkends have been prepping for christmas.

Weekly comp has suffered also.

Ok,
Thanks for setting this up, as said tried 3 times as per the old forum way and nothing happened, however doing from works comp: and all the rest had been done from home, not sure if that could be the problem.
Thanks Anyway.

I hope, for all involved, that the take up will get better, once the days get lighter.

I may not be able to participate myself, as time is simply lacking. Not so much time itself, but the time I need to do things like editing etc.

I had more or less given up on PR, but the new site looks promising so far, which means I'll be here more often, which automatically cuts into the time I have left for other things! If you follow my drift!

I'd better start digging for a picture for the weekly comp. So many to choose from that it is becoming a problem!

Well done getting the poll up. I think the time of year certainly affects the numbers - I'm finding it tough and I take pictures all the time.
A good variety of excellent entries - well done everyone.
It was a lot harder than I thought to get what I thought was a pleasing image.
