Speak to you later.
Cheers, Sie
Out as in 'drinking alcohol'?....maybe you will come up with a really unusual alcohol induced theme! Looking forward to it.

It does show cream on both my monitors here which are both calibrated

I did try photo editing on my laptop once before and found the whites were off when I viewed it on my normal monitor. It is quite a task in itself to get a pure white background at the best of times as it is with a black background.

[QUOTE=DigiDiva;69345]Ok, here's my up's and down's etc

Have already commented on Sie's winning pic so willgo straight to U's and D's

Up - Jeff's 'Pencil's' - Great idea, nice depth of field, nice full frame, lots of nice colours. A great entry.

Down - TwinnniE's 'Loose Women' - A great memory for you to have captured. Though it fitted the brief, I didn't feel it was strong enough to win.

Thanks for the critique Dave and Twinnie. Much appreciated, though I am surprised that you felt it didn't fit the brief Twinnie, as it was clearly stated the colours didn't have to be primary. My photo contained silver, gold, black, pink, red, purple and green. Would you mind explaining why you felt it didn't fit the brief so I will understand and not make a similar mistake in the future. I have maybe misunderstood the brief.

Hi Chris
I just couldn't pick out 4 different colours easily that's all.
Maybe I didn't understand the brief!

Hug

Congrats to Sie for a great composed shot! Must admit my vote went to "push pins", just loved the lighting on the main pin with the depth of field, spot on.

Ups - Stand out from your neighbour
Loved the shot, the angle etc, could not fault it and great depth of field.

Down - it's a girl thing
Again a very nice composed shot which cannot be faulted, like from a magazine, yes the white was cream but I am sure Chris will rectify that problem now that she knows about it.

I went out especially with a picture in mind but was disappointed with it so had to revert to an indoor take instead.

Thanks for replying Twinnie. Sometimes we all understand the brief differently which gives us so many different entries. I'm finding my new camera so much better and loving it, and was really pleased with how crisp my shots are getting.

Hiya

Glad you are enjoying your new camera Chris.

I can't believe I swapped my 1000D for a 40d today!

It's not brand new but it's mine!

Take Care

I have rectified it already, will replace the new one in my gallery. You have no idea how happy I am to receive your critique in that you can't fault it, and it was like a magazine shot. That was the aim and to achieve it is a great step forward for me.

Thanks for all your comments, so happy! *YAY*
